Violent Encounters and Their Aftermath (1 Hour)
This course explores the psychological, physiological, legal, and emotional realities of armed self-defense. Students will learn how the body and brain respond under extreme stress, including the effects of adrenaline, tunnel vision, auditory exclusion, and memory distortion.
We’ll discuss how to recognize threats, issue verbal commands, and evaluate force options before, during, and after an attack. You’ll also learn where to aim and when to stop shooting to meet legal standards of “defensive accuracy.”
The class covers critical actions to take in the immediate aftermath—such as calling 911, interacting with law enforcement, preserving evidence, and understanding your rights. We’ll also address the potential emotional and financial consequences of using force, and how to prepare legally with your attorney.
This course is essential for anyone who carries a firearm for personal protection and wants to be truly prepared—not just to survive an encounter, but to survive what comes after.
