Basic Handgun (4 Hours)
This foundational course introduces new shooters to safe, confident handgun ownership and operation. Students will learn the Four Universal Safety Rules, how to identify and operate various types of handguns, clear malfunctions, choose appropriate gear, and understand ammunition and ballistics basics. The class also introduces defensive shooting concepts, proper grip, sight alignment, and trigger control. With dry-fire drills, live-fire fundamentals, and a focus on self-defense readiness, this is the perfect class to build skill and confidence from the ground up.
Academically this class goes into greater depth then a “How to shoot a gun” class. Range work sets the foundations of the USCCA’s approach to defensive shooting.
