USCCA Basic Handgun Practical (Entry-Level Live-Fire Session – Apply & Master the Fundamentals)
Take your handgun basics from theory to the range! This practical, hands-on class applies the essential techniques learned in the USCCA Basic Handgun curriculum (or equivalent fundamentals training) through supervised live-fire drills. Perfect for complete beginners who’ve completed a classroom intro, first-time shooters ready to fire their first rounds, or those wanting guided practice to build confidence and accuracy.
Led by a certified USCCA Instructor in a controlled indoor range setting, you’ll focus on safe, effective application of core skills with real ammunition. Emphasis is on safety, proper technique, and building muscle memory — no advanced tactics or high-speed drills.
What You’ll Practice & Apply:
- The 4 Universal Firearms Safety Rules — enforced at all times
- Proper stance (isosceles or weaver), two-handed grip, sight alignment/picture, trigger control, & breathing
- Safe loading/unloading
- Live-fire drills at close to moderate distances (typically 3–7 yards) to reinforce fundamentals
- Controlled, progressive shooting: single shots, controlled pairs, & follow-up shots
- Immediate feedback from the instructor to correct common errors (flinching, anticipation, grip issues)
- Range safety protocols, etiquette, & how to shoot confidently on your own
Prerequisites: Completion of a USCCA Basic Handgun classroom/mini-class (or equivalent intro handgun fundamentals) strongly recommended. No prior live-fire experience required — entry-level friendly!
